Anne McDermott is a writer, storyteller and avid Brooklynite. Her writing has appeared in The New York Times, The Daily Beast, Providence Journal, The Belladonna Comedy and elsewhere. Her solo show Temp to Perm was developed with Emmy award winning playwright, Matt Hoverman and performed in New York City. She has performed on the stages of The Moth, TALE, The Nest Brooklyn, The Inspired Word, So What Happened Was and others. She was an unwitting contestant on the game show Cash Cab.
She earned her BBA from Western Connecticut State University and has since studied Media Design and Creative Writing at the New School University, the School of Visual Arts, Catapult and the Upright Citizens Brigade. Anne is the creator and host of the Brooklyn Reading Series, Sweet Reads and she can often be found riding her rusty Schwinn in Prospect Park.
