Anne McDermott is a comedian, storyteller and avid Brooklynite who will not give up her subway seat for your child. She's performed at the Comedy Cellar, Broadway Comedy Club, and The Moth among others. She was recently awarded an artist residency in the prestigious corner of her living room. Her writing has appeared in The New York Times, The Daily Beast, The Belladonna Comedy and on dirty car windows. You might be familiar with her work. "Wash me!"
Her solo show Temp to Perm was developed with Emmy award winning playwright, Matt Hoverman and performed in New York City...once.
Anne proudly attended a state university and has since studied creative writing at the New School University, the School of Visual Arts, Upright Citizens Brigade and on line at Duane Reade. She is the creator and host of the Brooklyn open mic, Long Story Short at Branded Saloon and she can often be found rubbing dogs' bellies on Flatbush Avenue.
